Today I’d like to discuss some frequently asked questions about all-inclusive resorts and what’s really included when you there.
1. What’s really included at all-inclusive resorts?
Typically most all-inclusive resorts include all meals, beverages including alcoholic drinks, tips and taxes. Premium alcohol may be more. You also get use of the resort gym, pool, non-motorized water sports, accompanied tours and entertainment. So take advantage of the resorts’ snorkeling equipment and kayak. If you want to ride a jet-ski or boat, you’ll have to pay for those. Also the resort may have a high-end restaurant that is not included in your package. Use of the resorts babysitting services may cost extra too.
2. How much cash should I bring?
You’ll be able to shop at the resort gift shop or pay for spa services via room charges, so $200 should be plenty.
3. Do I need to tip?
Not necessarily, but I do think it’s a good idea to tip for baggage handlers, maids, room service etc.
3. Do I have to dress up for dinner?
You most likely won’t be able to wear your swimwear and many all-inclusives do have a dress code for dinner. It varies by property.
4. Do I need an electrical converter?
Most properties don’t need one, but occasionally you will. Check with the resort before travel.
5. Should I bring a towel?
No, they resorts supply them.
6. How do I get from the airport to the resort?
Travel agents can arrange pre-paid transfers to your resort for you. This can save a lot of headache of trying to find a trustworthy cab driver. Don’t chance it, get the transfers!
7. Are there any family-friendly all-inclusive resorts?
There are all-inclusives specifically for couples – those are great for honeymooners or anniversary trips. But there are lots of family friendly properties too. Most include kid or teen clubs and pools.
